RUBBER BANDS

INITIALLY, the primary purpose of hairtie was to prevent long hai from falling into eyes . Up until invention of elastic men, women, children held their hair back with coloured ribbons of fabric , orbands of leather. Hairtie started as a predominantly male fashionaccessory .

They tie in form of of ‘ queue’ or‘tail’ .

MEDIEVAL METHODS

PRESENT RUBBER BANDS   the story of these stretchy , bouncy, durable bands goes back thousand of years . experts belief it began in the regions that many that many today call mexico and central america.

There, ancient civilizations harvested latex from rubbertree. To make this material less brittle , they mixed it with juice from morning glory vines. The was also strong and waterproof . the mayas, olmecs, and aztecs all used this rubberto make everyday. Many took rubber goods from americas back to europe.

METHOD OF PREPARING RUBBER BANDS

CHARLES GOODYEAR , developed vulcanization in 1839 . the process involves heating rubber and sulfer.

Rubberbands are still made in much same way.

They start as long rubbertubes , which are then heated and pressurized. Finally , the tube is cut into bands . After being washed and dried , the rubber bands are ready.

There was time in pre 17 century when people brought ponytail mainstream forrubber bands . european soilder used this technique to tie there hairinstead ofrubber bands .

FUTURE OF RUBBER BANDS   mostrecent variation of hairtie is ‘scrunchie’ . As this generation is moving towards more soft and smooth rubber bands in future rubber bands will come which can be adjust according to purpose . future rubber bands will have square shape so that they can be adjust and will become more soft when they will be in ther short form .

Coming generation is more into fashion and fashion trends but with that we need to make sure it is comfortable at the same time . so we’ll try to bring silk cloth back to make it more soft and healthy for hairs.
