A SOLUTION TO PROBLEM:

Many people utilised water alone before soap, with sand and clay serving as sporadic exfoliants. You might have had access to various scented waters or oils that you used to your body and then wiped off to eliminate filth and mask odour, depending on where you lived and your financial situation.

PAST THAT REFLECTS PRESENT

  • Ancient people quickly understood that oils and grease would react with alkaline materials like wood ash and charcoal to generate a simple soapy liquid that would remove dirt and impurities. These "early soaps" were documented as early as 4000 BC in Babylon and Sumeria.
  • 3,000 years ago (B.C.) (2001 - 3000)
a 2800 B.C. Sumerian clay tablet discovered in the modern-day Iraqi city of Babylon. Ancient Babylonians created soap from fats that were heated in water, ashes, and soap.













GOING BACK TO TIMELINE




1550 B.C.

Egypt that contained herbal medical knowledge. back when soap term didnt came in exsistence, It describes combining animal and vegetable oils with alkaline salts to form a soap-like material that was used for washing and treating skin diseases.




600 B.C.

The Phoenicians created soap from goat's tallow and wood ashes. The Celts made their soap and called it "saipo" from which the name soap is derived.




At first, soaps were mainly used to clean clothing and material. Over the centuries, different cultures around the world started experimenting with different materials and thus created soaps.
In medieval times, nations like Italy and Spain began adding castile and olive oils in ordeer to make their soaps less harsh on body, and focusing on body cleansing from washing clothes.

200 A.D.

Differnt cultures used idea of experimenting of soap differntly. Ancient Greeks use a mixture of ash and lye to clean their pots and statues, whereas the Gauls and Romans also used animal fats to make a soap-like mixture.




1791

Mr. LeBlane, a Frenchman identified a way to make soap from more ingredients and less expensive, so that everyone is able to use.




1850

Now, soap became a separate commodity from laundry soap and soap for personal use. Varieties started to came in separate commodity.




1898

Palmolive soap in 1898 and B.J. Johnson. The creation of the shower gel, which specialized in cleaning the entire body during baths and showers.











1969

It would be unfair to include Dr. Karsanbhai patel's phosphate free synthetic detergent powder.

Now we see different body washes and even soaps for different skin types. The availability and the variety is more, with fragrances, skin types. We can call this phylogenetic, we is a big jump. But as a upcoming designer and to keep the futuristic view in mind, this can be ontogenesis, another small jump to add in umbrella.






FUTURE


I would like to promote body wash as a means of confident, fragnance and style. Male or female can use it as thgeir signature. As a student of communication design, i would like body washes to be desirable, even the client who uses should feel confident and desired and loved.
keeping in mind product, we all can focus more on ingredients as everything is visible as clear as plastic. we can introduce glass bottles.
