As we observe, in India faucet evolve interestingly. Before 21st century people use well for their need of water and then they invent hand pump which still exist in some ancient villages.

- In ancient Faucet plumbing system, faucet were made from gold marbles and silver.

2000 BC:

the Romans developed pipes made of cement making the irrigation of water much cleaner and more efficient. the romans use it during 2000 Bc to 476 AD.

1700 Bc:

The Minoan place of Knossos on the Isle of Crete installed drainage system and pipes that provided water for faucet. It was first used at the Minoan palace. the material they use is Terracotta pipes.

1500 Bc:

Leonardo Da Vinci designed the first valves, a large component of water faucet. He illustrated the design that preceded the faucets we use today

- Leonardo da Vinci said " water is the driver of nature"

1927:

colored faucet were introduce to the market . that people could choose color & style that appealed to their home design.

1937 :

Al Moen envisions a single handle faucet. Before Moen, faucets were either hot or cold, there was no in between. Moen solved it and that would allow people to get a blended mixture of both hot and cold water from the same faucet

1945 :

Landis Perry designed the ball valve for faucets that control the amount of hot and cold water

1950:

Automatic faucets (in other words hands-free) were first developed.

1954:

Alex Manoogian patented and brought to market the first successful washer less ball valve of faucet using Landis Perry's design.

-Alex Manoogian also founded The delta faucet company which is one of the top most innovative faucet manufacturers in the world today.

-Delta faucet named from the Greek alphabet

1970 :

Delta faucet develops a 2 handle washer less line faucet with a high-arc spout

1980 :

Automatic faucets (electronic faucet) become widely available in public places like airports and malls.

- Electronic faucet that use sensors to detect motion and to turn faucet on or of were introduce in the early 1980's and it was first introduced in 2001 by the Delta faucet company.

1982 :

Delta introduces the first domestically produced faucet with a pull-out spray head

1990 :

People begin discovering that their tap water so long revered as supremely healthy could have harmful chemicals, so they discover water lionizer

2005 :

Delta introduces a universal valve design. Users can change the appearance, style and function of fixtures without changing the pipes

As you can see in this blog, faucets have changed a lot over the years, what has not changed is the demand for faucets.
