THE EVOLUTION OF THE MOBILE PHONES (BY NANDINI TIWARI)
From simple to intelligent, mobile phones have evolved dramatically to become an essential information and communication hub for modern life. But how have they progressed so far? Find out today!
MY OBJECT -
The world's first portable mobile phone
In 1983, the world's first portable mobile phone, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, was born. Priced at $4000 at the time, it was a huge status symbol at the time.
In 1989 Motorola updated his DynaTAC with his 9800X or MicroTAC and included a flip-down keyboard cover, setting the standard for flip phones in the 90's.
Mobile phones for personal use
GSM was first launched in Europe in 1991 with the Orbitel TPU 900, but it was not until 1992 that mobile phones were no longer restricted to business use. Mass production paved the way for low-cost consumer mobile phones with digital displays for new features such as SMS and games. Nokia was one of the first companies to mass-produce mobile phones for this purpose, called the Nokia 1011. That same year, Hagenuk launched his Global Handy, the first device without an external antenna. Customization was also a huge success when Ericsson offered an interchangeable colored front keypad. The following year, Nokia launched a line of interchangeable "Xpress-on" cases for his 5100 series, making it the first fashion-forward phone.
Feature Phone Growth
In 1999, Nokia introduced his 7110. This is the first device to utilize WAP, a means of accessing information over mobile wireless networks.A year later, Sharp launched the J-SH04, the world's first camera phone. Although it was only available in Japan, it marked the beginning of the public obsession with phone photography. However, it wasn't until 2002 with the release of the Sony Ericsson T68i and its clip-on camera that the Western market began to take an interest in camera phones.
The Mobile Data Revolution
3G implementation brought download speeds up to 2 MBS in March 2003, and "3" was the first to offer service in the UK. RIM brought mobile email to the masses with its line of popular BlackBerry devices such as the 8100 Pearl. The advent of front-facing cameras on devices such as the Sony Ericsson Z1010 in 2003 enabled video calling, but it was not common.
Smarter
Swipe and scroll replace traditional button input methods. The LG Prada was the first touch screen released in May 2007 before the Apple iPhone. But Apple has proven to have both a stronger brand and a better knowledge of what capacitive touchscreens are capable of.
Life Companion
Smartphones are becoming more and more central to modern life, offering more than just communication. EE is the first in the UK to launch his 4G service in 11 cities in 2012, allowing download speeds of up to 12Mbps. Speech recognition first became popular with Google Voice before Apple released Siri. To capitalize on the growth of mobile health and fitness, Samsung has added a built-in heart rate monitor to his flagship Galaxy S5.
Size Matters
The global rollout of 4G has dramatically improved video streaming and video calling capabilities. Screen sizes continue to grow to maximize the experience of these features, with the iPhone 7 Plus' display being 57% larger than the original iPhone from 2007. Mobile payments via Apple Pay and Android Pay are also supported. It has appeared, and users can buy things with their smartphones.
The Superfast World
EE will be the first in the UK to launch his 5G service in his six cities in May 2019. 5th generation networks promise far superior data speeds and reliability, facilitating ultra-high-definition video streaming and mobile gaming
